In balance with nature

During “In Balance with Nature”, we wanted participants to experience outdoor education not only as an activity, but as a method that can create real learning and change.

The hike was one of the key moments of the training. Walking together in nature gave participants space to observe group dynamics, practise communication, support different rhythms and needs, and reflect on how outdoor settings can strengthen soft skills in a natural way.

As hosts, we paid special attention to preparation and safety. Outdoor learning needs planning: understanding the route, checking conditions, preparing the group, discussing risks, having first aid awareness and creating a space where participants can challenge themselves without feeling pushed beyond their limits.

The hike showed that outdoor education is powerful because it connects learning with real situations. Participants experienced cooperation, decision-making, leadership, responsibility and inclusion not as theory, but as something that happens step by step on the trail.

For us, hosting this process in Dobczyce was a reminder that meaningful youth work can happen outside the training room - in movement, in nature, in shared responsibility and in reflection after the experience.
